Hear from Wilder homeowners about their experience with local hvac installation & service companies.
We have used Jolly at our apartment communities since 2015. They are efficient, competitive pricing if not lower than their competitors, very professional, and experienced plumbers.
Russell Shane Shrader Dominic Raven Logan & Eddie were very professional, courteous and knowledgeable thank you
Both kitchen sink & shower drains in shared wall clogged at same time. Jolly's plumber was great. He fixed everything quickly, let me know what he was finding as he worked and made suggestions for reducing future problems. Jolly has a home plan that, for a small monthly charge, they will check how your system is working periodically or you have a basic problem they will come out at no additional charge. Needless to say, I signed up!
The guy who installed was very informative and a very nice representative of your company.
I called ARC Electric to ask about adding an air filtration system to my home HVAC system and experienced a stunningly rude lady (Christie). I've had widely mixed experiences in communication with ARC but this will be the last one. I'm confident I can find another company who is appreciative and friendly.
Purchased our home a year prior and had been noticing the upstairs was significantly hotter than expected. This year I gave a call to Arc for them to do a service check and Tom came out. He was very personable and professional, he clearly had a lot of experience. He answered all of my questions as a new homeowner. Turns out a capacitor was bad which I asked him to replace (he showed me the readings). Ever since then our upstairs has been MUCH cooler, what an easy fix! Arc will certainly be my go-to moving forward!
HVAC Installation & Service performance guide for Wilder, Kentucky
Climate averages are state-level reference values, not city-specific measurements.
Climate impact in Wilder, Kentucky
Wilder, Kentucky sits in a Mixed-Humid climate zone with average summer highs near 85°F and winter lows near25°F. Those swings load the evaporator coil, blower motor, refrigerant lines, and condensate drain. Keep a clean MERV filter to protect the compressor.
Seasonal swings stress refrigerant lines and condenser capacity. Verify charge and airflow to protect the evaporator coil.
Most common local breakdowns
Evaporator coil icing from low airflow and clogged filters.
Capacitor failures on the condenser during peak cooling loads.
Low airflow from dirty MERV filters or a weak blower motor causes ice. Ask for airflow and refrigerant superheat checks.
Equipment recommendation
Balanced systems with SEER2 15+ and solid filtration protect the blower motor, coils, and compressor year-round. Seal ductwork and schedule coil cleaning to protect the heat exchanger, capacitor, and compressor.
Heat pumps favor variable-speed compressors and tight refrigerant line sets to stabilize humidity control.
Local code and housing notes
Ask contractors about Kentucky energy code compliance and permits. Older homes often benefit from ductless mini-splits to reduce line-set length and improve zone control.
Mechanical permit for system replacement and condenser swaps.
Post-install inspection covering refrigerant line pressure and condensate drain routing.
Load calculation proof to avoid short-cycling compressors.
Airflow verification (blower motor speed + static pressure).
Always confirm a contractor's license and insurance before hiring.
