Alex and his team should be your absolute go-to plumber if you live in the Charlotte area. We recently undertook an entire repiping of our home (3 full bath), and Direct Service Plumbing took care of the whole process end to end. The planning was thorough, Alex helpfully came out to ask and answer questions before we signed on. We had some lag time between our estimate and committing to the project, but the team had no issues working with us as soon as we were ready. Alex worked with us to ensure we got a fair price as repiping can get expensive, and he and his team were very gracious to come back and tweak a few things after the project was completed. The team members themselves are true gentlemen. Extremely polite and communicative with turning water on/off or working around the house. My wife noted they are some of the most considerate contractors we have ever worked with. The project took less than a week, and that was due to the guys' strong work ethic and volunteering to work late to help see us through. There were very few surprises along the way and we managed to keep this project in budget. I was worried about such a large undertaking and the risks involved, but for residential repiping you're in good hands with Direct Service Plumbing (and for any other plumbing needs).

What HVAC Repair & Maintenance technicians do

HVAC maintenance technicians are cross-certified professionals who service both heating and cooling systems under scheduled contracts. Their seasonal inspections cover blower motor amperage draw, capacitor microfarad readings, refrigerant charge via superheat and subcooling, condensate drain flow, and filter pressure drop across the return plenum. Technicians log electrical torque values, coil cleaning results, and temperature split measurements to build a performance history—data that predicts component failure and documents warranty compliance for homeowners and property managers.

Key terms: blower motor · contactor · refrigerant leak · condensate drain · coil cleaning

HVAC Repair & Maintenance FAQ

Most systems benefit from two visits per year: a spring tune-up for cooling season and a fall tune-up for heating season. High-use commercial systems may warrant quarterly inspections.

Plans usually cover seasonal inspections, coil cleaning, filter replacement, electrical checks, and priority emergency response with discounted repair rates.

Dirty coils, low refrigerant charge, or a failing blower motor capacitor can increase amp draw and energy use before visible symptoms appear. A tune-up with performance logging will identify the issue.

Yes. Routine care extends equipment life by catching component wear early, reduces emergency repair costs, and keeps the system within manufacturer warranty requirements.

A thorough tune-up includes refrigerant superheat and subcooling, blower motor amps, capacitor microfarads, temperature split, condensate drain flow, and coil cleanliness inspection.

Planning notes for your area

• Request airflow cfm and temperature split measurements at the end of each service visit.

• Keep all service documentation for warranty compliance and resale records.

• Compare maintenance plan pricing: flat monthly fee vs. per-visit pricing based on system age.

• Confirm technician certifications (EPA 608, NATE) before signing a multi-year contract.
