I highly recommend DDM Air duct, for air duct cleaning services! White was outstanding. He showed up promptly and took the time to explain the whole process. I appreciated how meticulous he was with air duct cleaning and ensuring no mess was left behind. The air in our home feels cleaner, and we can already tell the HVAC system is running more efficiently. The service was affordable and the quality was top-notch. If you're looking for an air duct service that delivers results,

I had a great experience with Doctor Dryer Vent. Logan was punctual, polite, and very thorough in cleaning my dryer vent. removing any lint build-up inside and ensuring the vent was clear. The service was efficient, and my dryer is now working much faster. I’ll be recommending to all my friends and family!

I had such a great experience with Choice Air Duct—I honestly wish I’d called them sooner. From the first phone call to the day of cleansing, they were super professional and easy to work with. He showed up on time (huge win), explained everything clearly, and didn’t try to upsell me on anything I didn’t need. He was very respectful of my home, worked efficiently, and even showed me photos of the inside of my ducts—yikes, I had no idea how bad they were! The air feels noticeably cleaner now, and I’m already seeing a difference with my allergies and how my HVAC system runs. What I appreciated most was how honest and straightforward he was. No gimmicks, no pressure—just solid service. If you're in the Aurora area and need duct cleaning, I’d absolutely recommend them. I’ll definitely be calling them again when it’s time for another cleaning.

Ventilation & Air Quality in the United States

What Ventilation & Air Quality technicians do

IAQ and ventilation contractors are certified professionals who measure and correct air quality conditions inside a building—from particulate load in return ducts to CO₂ concentration in occupied zones. Their assessment begins with duct static pressure testing to identify restriction points, followed by airflow balancing at supply and return registers. Specialists evaluate existing filtration efficiency against the MERV rating required for the allergen or chemical load in the space, then design upgrades using HEPA-rated air handlers, ERV/HRV units for controlled fresh-air exchange, and VOC or particulate sensors to establish pre- and post-installation benchmarks.

DIY vs. professional service

Use the checklist below to separate basic upkeep from licensed work.

Safe owner tasks

• Replace MERV-rated filters on the manufacturer's schedule

• Keep all return grilles free of furniture or drapes

• Run bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans during and after use

• Monitor indoor humidity with a hygrometer (target 40–50%)

Call a licensed pro

• Duct pressure testing and air sealing

• ERV/HRV installation and airflow balancing

• Whole-home IAQ assessment with CO₂, VOC, and particulate monitoring

• UV or ionization system installation and maintenance

• Static pressure verification before high-MERV filter upgrades

Ventilation & Air Quality FAQ

Most homes perform well with MERV 8–13. Ratings above MERV 13 require a static pressure check, as high-restriction filters can starve the blower motor and reduce airflow.

Consider duct cleaning if you notice restricted airflow, excessive dust, visible mold at registers, or if the home recently underwent construction or renovation.

An Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) continuously exchanges stale indoor air with fresh outdoor air while recovering heat and moisture—reducing CO₂ buildup and pollution without wasting conditioned air.

HEPA or high-MERV filtration, along with humidity control and duct sealing, significantly reduces airborne allergens, mold spores, and particulate matter that trigger allergic responses.

Persistent headaches, eye irritation, or chemical smells after painting or installing new materials are common indicators. A professional IAQ assessment with VOC sensors confirms the source and level.

Planning notes for your area

• Verify duct static pressure before selecting a high-MERV filter to protect the blower motor.

• Document target humidity (40–50% RH) and particulate baseline before and after upgrades.

• Ask whether the contractor is NADCA-certified before booking duct cleaning.

• Plan ERV/HRV sizing around the home's square footage and occupancy levels.
