Highly recommend- very responsive and priced fairly.
Brandon is efficient, fair and competent. He is very easy to work with and answered all my questions and concerns. He replaced my gas furnace and central air system, corrected a duct issue and added a second zone to my forced air system. I definitely will use him in the future.
A conscientious and intelligent approach to a boiler repair. Diagnosis and work done in an extremely efficient manner.. This was after spending all last years heating season with sporadic heat. Brandon has a new satisfied customer with me.
I’m not sure where these good reviews came from because our experience with him was so disappointing. We told him an issue and he talked and made it seem like it’s something he could fix no problem. Using words like “guarantee”, “I’ve been doing this for a long time” etc. He flaked on us with no communication when he was supposed to come. We rescheduled for the next day and he flaked again. How can you do that to someone in cold weather when you’re told the heat isn’t working? Without any explanation atleast. Smh terrible person, terrible business. Reply to owner comment: Obviously we're not a customer because you didn't show up. We told you where we were located, you never mentioned it being a problem. Everything you just commented was never mentioned to us...
Temp-Wise Heating & Cooling came through for us and delivered prompt & professional mechanical services at a critical time when our system malfunctioned and we really needed heat! I'm talking Fall in New England, need I say more? A bonafide trifecta...fair, prompt response time and exceptional service! Suffice to say that we would not hesitate to recommend Temp-Wise to both friends and family alike. If we could give them '6' stars, we would! Our stellar experience has made us loyal customers and we will continue to call on them for all of our future mechanical needs. Authentic customer reviews and ratings matter more than ever before especially with so much fake, AI-generated hype. It's important to know who you are dealing with and verify the legitimacy of the review. It is our hope that, by offering this honest 'human' review, you (the reader) can fully trust it and feel confident when calling on Temp-Wise or making them your mechanical service company of choice. - Steve B (South Coast of Mass)
HVAC Installation & Service performance guide for Rochester, Massachusetts
Climate averages are state-level reference values, not city-specific measurements.
Climate impact in Rochester, Massachusetts
Rochester, Massachusetts sits in a Cold climate zone with average summer highs near 80°F and winter lows near18°F. Those swings load the evaporator coil, blower motor, refrigerant lines, and condensate drain. Keep a clean MERV filter to protect the compressor.
Extended heating cycles strain heat exchangers and blower motors. Inspect ignition systems and combustion safety annually.
Most common local breakdowns
Heat exchanger stress and ignition issues in gas furnaces during long winters.
Frozen coils caused by restricted airflow and dirty MERV filters.
Low airflow from dirty MERV filters or a weak blower motor causes ice. Ask for airflow and refrigerant superheat checks.
Equipment recommendation
A cold-climate heat pump or high-AFUE furnace with SEER2 15+ AC keeps both heating and cooling efficient across seasons. Seal ductwork and schedule coil cleaning to protect the heat exchanger, capacitor, and compressor.
Furnace + AC setups need annual heat exchanger inspection, verified combustion, and balanced blower airflow.
Local code and housing notes
Ask contractors about Massachusetts energy code compliance and permits. Older homes often benefit from ductless mini-splits to reduce line-set length and improve zone control.
Mechanical permit for system replacement and condenser swaps.
Post-install inspection covering refrigerant line pressure and condensate drain routing.
Load calculation proof to avoid short-cycling compressors.
Airflow verification (blower motor speed + static pressure).
Always confirm a contractor's license and insurance before hiring.
