This was truly one of the best experiences I have ever had working with an hvac company. Aaron is unparalleled and truly cares about his work, as well as the customer he is working with. He took me through each and every one of the steps it took to fix my hvac unit. He also went out of his way to accommodate my “emergency”, every other company was booked out for a month and they referred me to his business. Support this individual, you will not be disappointed I promise!

Aaron came to service our air handler and outside heat pump before winter and did an excellent job. Reasonable prices and excellent communication. Would recommend him for anything HVAC related!

We were having issues with our air conditioning not cooling. Our house was staying very hot and even though our system was on, it was not blowing cold air. We were afraid this was going to be really expensive to fix. Aaron came out and did a review and found out that we needed to clean our evaporator coils. Aaron took his time explaining why and how it was important to keep these clean. We went in thinking we were going to have to spend hundreds of dollars if not thousands. Golden was very honest and helpful and didn’t try to upsell us on anything. We really appreciate their honesty and hard work. They were on time and very communicative. If you call, make sure to ask for Aaron. He was the best.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

HVAC Installation & Service performance guide for Burleigh County, North Dakota

Very Cold zone
Summer avg 74°F
Winter avg 5°F

Climate averages are state-level reference values, not city-specific measurements.

Climate impact in Burleigh County, North Dakota

Burleigh County, North Dakota sits in a Very Cold climate zone with average summer highs near 74°F and winter lows near5°F. Those swings load the evaporator coil, blower motor, refrigerant lines, and condensate drain. Keep a clean MERV filter to protect the compressor.

Extended heating cycles strain heat exchangers and blower motors. Inspect ignition systems and combustion safety annually.

Most common local breakdowns

  • Cracked heat exchangers from high duty cycles and delayed service.

  • Frozen condensate lines and iced outdoor coils during subfreezing weeks.

Low airflow from dirty MERV filters or a weak blower motor causes ice. Ask for airflow and refrigerant superheat checks.

Equipment recommendation

Cold-climate heat pumps with auxiliary heat or a 90+ AFUE furnace backup reduce stress on the heat exchanger during deep-freeze cycles. Seal ductwork and schedule coil cleaning to protect the heat exchanger, capacitor, and compressor.

Furnace + AC setups need annual heat exchanger inspection, verified combustion, and balanced blower airflow.

Local code and housing notes

Ask contractors about North Dakota energy code compliance and permits. Older homes often benefit from ductless mini-splits to reduce line-set length and improve zone control.

  • Mechanical permit for system replacement and condenser swaps.

  • Post-install inspection covering refrigerant line pressure and condensate drain routing.

  • Load calculation proof to avoid short-cycling compressors.

  • Airflow verification (blower motor speed + static pressure).

Always confirm a contractor's license and insurance before hiring.
